Lindsay Strickland
Director
Throughout her 11-year tenure as director, and now vice president, of government relations for Georgia World Congress Center Authority (GWCCA), Lindsay Strickland has significantly contributed to the financial stability of GWCCA as well as its expansion and major development initiatives. Her exceptional leadership has been recognized at the highest levels of state government, earning her appointments to the transition teams of both Governor Nathan Deal and Governor Brian Kemp. These prestigious roles underscore her unparalleled ability to offer strategic insight, foster collaboration, and provide invaluable guidance.
In the time Lindsay has served at GWCCA, she has been instrumental in securing more than $185 million in state funding for a variety of projects ranging from Centennial Olympic Park renovations and the addition of a new pedestrian mall and bus terminal to escalator, elevator, flooring, and roofing replacements in the Congress Center as well as the addition of a new exhibit hall creating more than one million square feet of contiguous exhibit space – a game changer for the Congress Center’s (and Atlanta’s!) ability to host some of the nation’s largest conventions and meetings.
Additionally, her long-standing relationships under the Gold Dome showcased her ability to navigate and influence complex funding mechanisms and were pivotal in the development of Mercedes-Benz Stadium and GWCCA’s new hotel, Signia by Hilton Atlanta; these are two of the most high-profile developments on the Authority’s campus in the last decade and have proven to be key in the city’s ability to bid for some of the most sought-after events in the U.S.
