JJ Singh is the President of Retreat Hotels & Resorts, a full-service hotel developer, owner, operator, and asset manager. Singh has developed, and provided asset management services for 747 hotel keys on Jekyll Island, including the newly completed Courtyard / Residence Inn.
Prior to joining Retreat, Singh served as the Director of Hospitality and Investments for LNW Hospitality, a division of Leon N. Weiner & Associates, Inc., a commercial real estate developer based in Wilmington, DE. He has also held several roles in public service and in finance. For four years, Singh was the Economic Policy Advisor to U.S. Senator Chris Coons. In this role, he drafted several bi-partisan bills related to tax, small business, and manufacturing, which were enacted in law. He also worked as a credit analyst in the White House Office of Management and Budget. Finally, he ran a micro credit loan fund in Oruro, Bolivia, as a United States Peace Corps Volunteer. In finance, Singh worked as a health care equity analyst at a hedge fund in New York. Additionally, he was a loan underwriter for small businesses in all five boroughs.
Singh holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, an MPA from the Harvard Kennedy School, and a BA from the University of Virginia. He plays tennis, enjoys history, and considers himself UVA basketball’s number one super fan. He lives in Virginia, with his wife Jessica and daughters Kiera and Sarina.
